Starfish
Starfish are fascinating marine invertebrates with five arms radiating from a central disc. They are found on sandy or rocky seabeds, feeding on mollusks by prying open shells with their strong arms. Around Southend Pier, starfish are occasionally found attached to rocks or on the seabed at low tide. Their vibrant colors and unique shape make them a delightful discovery.
