Compass Jellyfish
Compass jellyfish are stunning creatures with pale yellow or cream-colored bells and distinctive brown markings resembling a compass. They have long, trailing tentacles that deliver a mild sting, though they are not dangerous to humans. Found occasionally in the waters near Southend Pier during summer, these jellyfish are a treat to observe for those looking out over the estuary.
