During the winter, seals are a common sight at the end of Southend Pier. They are most often seen around high tide and in choppy waters. Remember the seals are wild animals so you may need a little patience to spot them for yourself.
In the meantime, take a look at this film by Ross Birnie as part of a new series showcasing the wonderful wildlife that Essex has to offer. The first episode features the playful seals at the end of the pier.
